Since the late twentieth century, generations of Moroccan immigrants in search of a better life, arrived in Murcia to become the main workforce in the increasingly intensive agricultural sector. This has led to the opening of mosques, businesses and cultural associations that reinforce their presence in the region. Over the years, the Arab community in Murcia has grown and settled, with second generations born in Spain.
